Panelology is a weekly podcast about comics. We talk about current books, what we're looking forward to, and how to get into reading comics in the first place.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Who Run the World? Squirrels (Marvel Comics, 2015; #17-21)

  • Doreen meets a wealthy woman who both is an engineer and wants to become Squirrel Girl’s benefactor and teach her important lessons about GREAT POWER and GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.
  • Also, she can command animals herself; it’s almost too good to be true!
  • In what is probably completely unrelated to that last bullet point, Squirrel Girl and her Amazing Friends find themselves fighting bears and various other animals!
  • And Tippy-Toe gets a makeover!

North, Henderson, and Renzi’s Squirrel Girl run continues to be fun, upbeat, and optimistic.  If you’re looking for a superhero title that focuses on being support and friendship (without ever just feeling preachy), then check it out.
